I spent the last day of 2006 at my cousins’ home, watching my uncle mutilate a poor female pig for the new year countdown later. Spent the whole afternoon eating camote with ginamos, squatting beside rogue turkeys, chatting with my Boholano kuya about cooking, bonding with baby Misay, bickering with Long Long, and just having the time of my life.

If the last day of this year is any sign of how I’m gonna fare next year, I must say I’m quite excited!
