Another Week Passes

It’s been almost a week since I’ve laid hands on a computer with a net connection. See, last Saturday I claimed my copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, set in reading the whole thing in one day and vowing not to surf the net for fear of spoilers. Obviously, I’ve read the book (it’s pretty swell, actually) so now I’m fearless! Bring out those spoilers! Waahahahahaha!

A lot of things have happened since then. Last Sunday Kol Aping, Kya Tres and Kya Butchoy toured me around Manila. We walked around Fort Santiago, rode a kalesa and did a lot of really cool things. :D But with happy news comes sad news and so I was forced to accept the reality that our team, Ocean’s 7 and soon to become Ocean’s 6, got 64/100 in our first exam, a team activity. But that’s life, I suppose. I refuse to say I’m dumb or anything because I know I’m not the only one having a tough time with acads. Although I doubt there are others who are four readings behind the discussion, leading to confusion in class and a sickness with sleepiness for symptoms.

I joined a march last Monday, by the way. On the day of the SONA, some UP students teamed up to march from AS or Palma Hall to Commonwealth, the venue for the SONA ng Bayan. A couple of my pals and I joined a bit of the pre-march fora and actually did a bit of walking, too. We only got as far as the checkpoint at the campus entrance though because we were too scared to join the upperclassmen as they ‘decried’ the president and her promises.

There is a liberating feeling that tingles through you as you hold a protest banner for the world to see your views and opinions. But I really would like to stay out of trouble and keep my promise to my mother ("Yes, I will not be an activist while I’m in school") so I really should push these sentiments to the side to make way for other priorities. There is a time for a revolution but that time is not now.

On a lighter note, we first floor girls had our first General Inspection yesternight. Ate Anjz, who’s an ex-PMAer, handles the inspection so you’d better clean every thing if you don’t want to be blacklisted for a violation. I mean, you wouldn’t want to have to clean the communal bathroom just for not cleaning your room’s window ledge, would you? But seriously, the GI made me panic. As head of the welfare committee, which is in charge of the floor’s cleanliness and its residents’ health, I feel it’s my responsibility to set a good example to others. So there, I cleaned like hell and nearly broke down because of it. After all, I’ve never cleaned an entire room before and I have no idea the difference clear and red floor wax makes. In other words, I’ve had no experience in cleaning and this nearly drove me over my cliff of sanity. Thank God I’ve got great friends who are great at making floors shine. :D

Right, so my left hand is all injured because I’ve done so much cleaning (honestly, I’ve acquired so many cuts and bruises just because I tried to clean a dorm room) and I’ve got more band-aids than I wish to keep. Alas, the reality of a Kalai dormer’s life. :D

Toodles! Poof…

Hehe! Ocean’s 7 is a team for what? PE?
Well Ma’am G sadly isn’t our mod anymore. We don’t have a new one, but we’re still under Sister L’s rule, of course. I don’t really know what goes on with the Camp Ob now; I seldom get invited to meetings!!
Also, they (the sisters) moved our headquarters to that small room beside the teacher’s lounge in the canteen! It’s even smaller than the original CO room! They’re using the original room for an FI Kids HQ!
