Afternoon Fever

July 8th, 2007 by beingbeaple

No class for all subjects under the College of Science this afternoon. :D Instead of researching for my report in Socio 10 or reading ahead for the Econ long exam this Saturday I’m taking my own sweet time in the net - even though I’m not supposed to spend anything because I overspent the other day. :D Typical college student’s life.

The concert right after the Math 17 long exam was both exhausting and amazing. I’m not an avid music fan (but I do love listening to music and singing in the shower) so I wasn’t able to recognize most of the band members who were performing. Okay, so I knew some of them by name like Sandwich and Imago and Sugarfree and Yeng C but then again, who doesn’t?! The clue to fitting in at any concert: scream when everybody else does and let the crowd do its thing and push you because eventually you’ll end up in front like I did.

I wasn’t able to watch Parokya ni Edgar though, because of the curfew at Kalai. Grrr!

UAAP the next morning was plain great. It sort of sucked that our team lost by a whooping total of 21 points but YOU KNOW it was La Salle we were up against. Every one who came decked in maroon sort of expected the result. Basically, we were shouting out the school’s name just to help the team make it to the end of the game. Hehehehe. At least we got to sing our school hymn at the end of it all. :D

BTW, it feels great to be in maroon. :D

Have you seen a square X?

Math 17 first long test earlier. :D Prayed to Mother Mary and Lord Jesus to give me a grade I deserve. Can only hope against hope I’ve studied enough to earn that coveted passing score. :D

Concert tonight! I’ve never been a party person (when asked to choose between a Freshman concert and Eiga Sai, a Japanese film marathon, I’d choose the later in a heartbeat) but seeing celebrities in the flesh (yup, miles and miles away from the actual stage) makes me giddy. Yipee, yipee.

UAAP tomorrow! Excited now there’s no Math to think about! :D Tenchu so much Sir Montes for being such a ’super’ teacher!

Barking Dogs

July 4th, 2007 by beingbeaple

PhilPost has always fascinated me. Since I was a kid I’ve always love getting letters; I love the feeling of being remembered. Aside from that I also love sending letters. Yup, I hate writing in more ways than one but it really is a welcome break from all the mass texting I do every day.

Papemelroti has a branch at the SC (Shopping Arcade) and so I bought little trinkets for Carmz and Ogi, who will be celebrating their 17th birthdays this July 15. Unfortunately, as I’ve told the two future birthday girls, the mailing process for packages is so intricate, meticulous and difficult that I’ve given up. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t forgotten my friends’ birthdays! Like haller, that is so kaka!!!!!

….

Pardon. I was momentarily transported to Theatre mode there.
(Ano ako, celfon?!?! May optional profile, theme, settings?!?!)

Maybe I’m just hungry. Or maybe I’m just excited about the Kalayaan Residence Hall Acquaintance Party later. Or maybe I’m terrified of the Math 17 first long exam tomorrow. Or maybe…

I’m thankful and exasperated because of the package my mum (successfully) mailed me. See, her intentions are good - she helped me research for my report in Socio 10. But why are there so many pages in the references she sent me?!?!?

Sigh. Thanks anyway, Mum.

It’s lunch. Wonder what’s on the menu… sinigang na bangus or that Mexican whatsit?

Desperate to Fit In?

July 3rd, 2007 by beingbeaple

I bought something at Maroons today. It was a maroon shirt with Diliman emblazoned across it (surprise, surprise). I bought it for the UAAP opening this Saturday, the seventh, which I plan to watch with my friends. But you know, I could just wear any shirt regardless of its shade. Am I really just trying so hard to fit in with the rest of the maroon-clad UP crowd (most will be the people from PE Cheerleading - because, yes, that subject actually exists)? More importantly, do I really think I’ll fit in just by wearing a maroon shirt?

Wala lang. Just wanna ask myself stuff. I’ve been so busy having a lot of fun here in school that I haven’t found ample time to emote. In the long run I guess that’s a good thing but I think I should also go emo once in a while.

Last night, as aces were flying across the tiled floor tears raindrops fell from the radiant sun. It was sad, because I don’t really know how that happened. All I know is I was so scared and freaked out and quite at a loss of words to say. (You should know by now that when I shut up it’s a very very delicate situation I’m treading on.) We are learning more about each other in the most surprising ways and our new discoveries sometimes lead to unwanted confrontations. I wonder how his confrontation went?

BTW, if you don’t understand that last line it’s okay. I meant it to be like that. But when you read between the lines you’ll see what truth lies in my words. Kind of like ‘A Martian Sends a Postcard Home’ y Craig Raine. It is truly an amazing poem. For those who don’t have English 11, Google it and try to interpret it. When I finally understood it, it made me laugh. :D

Hope you’re well!

Kwek, Siomai, Foot Long

July 1st, 2007 by beingbeaple

Another thing I love about UP is its wide array of food offerings. Lots and lots and lots of goodies on sticks. Also C2 is quite popular here. The company even gave us freshies free ID straps during our start-of-term orientation. SO even though I haven’t eaten either lunch or dinner (oh, the pangs of college life where you feel there are other more important things to do other than satisfy your grumbling stomach) I don’t feel hungry.

Not THAT hungry, anyway.

It’s strange that I can still maintain an air of serenity despite all the stuff that are going to happen tomorrow. So many things to do, so much work to finish and I’m still here, typing random thoughts into my blog. Of course, that’s what I often did in high school, too, so it really shouldn’t be a biggie, but to think I’m already in college! I’m supposed to be more responsible now.

Surprise, surprise. I’m free as a bird. I can do every thing I want.

(Insert evil laugh here)

BTW, when you guys get to college (for those who aren’t in college yet) and you feel like you’re never going to make any new friends (especially for those who aren’t going to study in Xavier) don’t fret because sooner or later you’ll find your own barkada to hang out with. It could be an uncanny twist of fate that’ll bring your group together in an instant or it could take a couple of weeks for you guys to fully accept each other. In my case, with my college friends, it took a long time.

But I’m not all fussed about it actually. Although I can hardly remember how all of us met (I only know we didn’t meet each other and become friends in a snap) I’m thankful I met people like them. They’re fun to be with, just like my friends in CDO. Hehehehehehehe.

Another thing, I think I’m finally moving on! (Three cheers and a hurrah!) Not that I’m in love with anyone in particular right now (and I don’t have any plans of finding someone to cry over and dream about and whatev) but I have a lot of classmates who really fascinate me. Haha! The girls in Kalai are mostly taken from the same mold but the boys - the boys! - are all so different! Some are too feminine, some love anime too much, some are too smart for their own good, some play basketball every afternoon, some don’t get out of their rooms and ALL OF THEM are so funny to watch. They remind me of different-colored mice used in animal testing centers. Haha! Scientific research specimen!

So funny. hehehehehe.

Well, night all. I’ve got to meet Mackie and Harry and whoever else is there for ‘dinner’ and then I’ve got to dash for our skit rehearsal and then I’ve got to study Math and read the documents for Marine Science.

Unchartered Territory

June 29th, 2007 by beingbeaple

The Internet connection is slow here.

When I left for Peyups I thought it would be the end of my blogging career - char, as if I even had one. I thought getting net access would be costly and difficult. In fairness to Fate, the process is costly but it’s hardly what I’d call difficult. After all, there’s an entire arcade of net cafes right beside my dorm so mozilla is just a few steps away. Hehehehehehe.

Of course, that means I’ll never be able to save but as they say, you can’t have every thing you want in life. Besides….! I’m not overspending - just not saving. Those are two completely different things.

So… How has life been for everyone? I’m sorry I haven’t been able to read any blog entries lately ’cause every time I connect I get hooked to the hidden (read: illegally published) Detective Conan episodes and movies a friend of mine has uploaded on You Tube. So gome, gome minasan!

Life in Peyups is fun - at least so far it’s still fun. There’s something new to do every day and the best thing is most of the events I’ve attended are for FREE! (Ah, the perks of being a college freshman. Every one says the upperclassmen will pick on you but I doubt that’s possible in my case because I don’t look like a freshman anyway!) It’s been two weeks since classes started and I’ve already watched a rally and attended educational lectures. Definitely my type of thing.

This school has made me feel like all those years I spent in preparatory learning were useless. Surprisingly, it doesn’t make me feel bad. In fact, the prospect of not knowing a lot of things makes me even more excited. Wasn’t it Sherlock Holmes who said something like "Your mind is like an attic and only you can choose what to stock up there"?

Not much is happening on my side. Rather, to state that properly, so much has happened that I can’t possibly record all of those events here. I hope you feel content that I’m doing well and enjoying myself….

Shucks! What do I think I am, a superstar??????????????

But seriously, I hope everyone’s fine as well. I can’t read blog entries as much as I used to due to time constraints and other inevitable circumstances and I hope you guys understand. Please drop me some lines so I’ll know how you are.

Just stuff like:
"I’m eating siomai right now…"
"The neighbor’s dog chewed my favorite Bratz doll’s head off…"
"I had LBM in the middle of Lit class…"

Just stuff like that. Prosaic, basic, everyday stuff.

I’ll be waiting!

Desperate Revival

May 20th, 2007 by beingbeaple

Any truly fanatic follower of Detective Conan/Meitantei Conan/Case Closed would know that special six-episode ’season’. I found it on YouTube last week, thanks to a Filipino DC fan code-named Videofan9864 who placed those videos there.

Haha.

Anyway, I have to stop blogging. I won’t be able to ‘maintain’ this blog when I go to ‘college’ so I’m going to shift back to ‘diary mode’. To all those who’ve supported this blog, Thanks v much! You guys are great! :D Take care!

Pet Phantom

May 2nd, 2007 by beingbeaple

Koga - as anyone who has wandered into the realms of this blog would most probably recognize - has disappeared. So have my four marauding cats. Their mother’s miserable! :( She keeps coming back to her kitties’ hidey-hole, sniffing the air and poking around. Then she meows and you can feel the sincere ‘desperation’ oozing out of her crying, ‘Kitties??? Where are you??? Come back home now please!!!"

I suspect somebody - a visitor from my dad’s party - has kitnapped Moony, Wormtail, Sirius and James. Either that or my mother willingly gave them away. I assure you that I will not rest until I track down the whereabouts of my kitties. I will hunt them down!!!!!!!!

Poof!

P.S.

Once again, Alex, please accept my condolences. For more info check out Alex’s blog.

Guess Who’s Back?????

April 30th, 2007 by beingbeaple

Yup. It’s me. I’ve been separated from my beloved laptop for one whole week. One week! Can you imagine being Net-less for seven days???? Obviously I survived but still…. I was quite bored.

Bah.

The kittens ran away, btw. This morning when I went to check on them (I’ve been doing that since Moony’s hind legs got run over by the car) I saw some weird black shape near their hollow-block home. It was black and just the size of the little kittens. I wasn’t wearing my glasses then so I asked my Ate Tani to check what on Earth that was. And she thought what I thought, too. She said it was a cat.

I actually sobbed, you know. Right in front of my Uncle’s gigantic TV, which he brought over for my dad’s bday celebration, while watching Boys Be… Then Manang Em looked at the decaying corpse of whatever that was, announced that it had no head, and then concluded that it WASN’T a cat. Not one of my beloved kittens were trampled on and squished. Wahahahahaha!

A lot of other stuff happened recently. A lot of interesting stuff. But since putting them in this blog would be like serving bahaw to house guests (not to mention the whole thing would be considerably longer than my already-long posts) I’d just comment that…

… JV’s birthday luncheon treat at Dynasty was a learning experience for me!

… my father’s 50th birthday was a success, considering how much he and my mum argued over it. :D So many people came round for dinner and as I always I ended up falling asleep about three hours before the celebration actually ended.

Poof!

P.S.

Belated Happy Birthday to Xandra! :D

P.S. 2

Just pre-enlisted in UP. Main subjects are Math (5.0 units) and Econ (3.0 units). Allow me to let loose some profanities in lieu of this truly horrible occurence. Damn.
